Best Damn Web Hosts - Keyword SEO - Part 2
While the face of SEO is constantly changing, getting your basics right is still a necessary part of web design. Keyword use in body text still carries weight within search engine algorithms. The body text is the text on your site that viewers see when they visit your site, the words that they’re actually reading. This text doesn’t include any real HTML and the more visible text on you page, the more there is for search engines to index.
Using your keywords, or key phrases, in your body text is an essential part of SEO. Now you don’t want to over do it, but you do want to work them into the regular flow of your page. Don’t add them in to the point that your page becomes polluted with your keywords or phrases. In general you want to keep your keyword density around 3% of your total words. Most top sites are between 1% and 5% with majority being around 3%. So if you page is 500 words long, you should have integrated your key phrase around 15 times. This includes headings, titles and and all other words on the page, even text links.
There are numerous keyword density checking tools on the web, we will be adding a “SEO Tools” section to our website in the next couple of days. Keep an eye out for that section because we have lots of useful tools on file.
